Dublin: The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a recall for Hogan’s Farm Turkey Burgers (400g) due to potential salmonella contamination. The affected batch bears the use-by date of 26 July and approval number IE 827 EC.
Although past its use-by date, the FSAI cautions that consumers may have frozen the product and urges them to check their freezers and avoid consumption.
Salmonella symptoms can appear between 6 to 72 hours after infection, commonly causing diarrhoea, fever, abdominal cramps, and headaches. Vulnerable groups such as the elderly, infants, and immunocompromised individuals are at greater risk of severe illness.
Retailers will display recall notices at points of sale to inform consumers.
