Dublin: The government has approved the Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Bill 2025 for urgent enactment, extending rent controls across Ireland. The legislation designates all non-rent pressure zones (RPZs) as RPZs from enactment until February 28, 2026, and extends existing RPZ measures by two months.
Housing Minister James Browne emphasised the commitment to providing stability and protection for renters amid a complex rental market. Minister of State John Cummins highlighted the Government’s swift action to enhance tenant protections by expanding rent controls nationwide.
