Dublin: The Port of Holyhead, which sustained significant damage during Storm Daragh on the weekend of December 6, is scheduled for a partial reopening on January 16. Stena Line, the port’s owner and operator, has confirmed that Terminal 5 will be operational by that date. However, a reopening timeline for Terminal 3 has yet to be announced.
The storm forced the closure of the port, leading to the suspension of all ferry services between Dublin and Holyhead. The disruption impacted thousands of passengers travelling between Ireland and the UK over the Christmas period.
A spokesperson for Stena Line stated, “Holyhead’s Terminal 5 ferry berth is on track to reopen as planned. If no further adverse weather conditions arise, Terminal 5 will resume full operations on the scheduled date.”
In the interim, the company has recommended alternative travel routes to passengers. Officials have also confirmed that the full schedule of services at Terminal 5 is expected to resume once the berth is reopened.
The timeline for the restoration of operations at Terminal 3 remains under review, with updates anticipated in the coming weeks.
