Dublin: The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE) has announced the full digitisation of Ireland’s employment permit application process. Beginning Monday, April 28, all employment permit applications must be submitted through a new cloud-based Employment Permits Online System (EPOS). The existing portal will be decommissioned at 6:00 p.m. on April 17.
The new EPOS platform is designed to streamline the submission, processing, and issuance of employment permits, offering improved functionality and enhanced security for employers, employees, and agents. It integrates with e-signatures and allows for real-time status updates and account management.

Account Registration & Requirements:
All users must register for a portal account to access the new system. Employers will be required to upload essential documents, including Revenue and Company Registration Office (CRO) details.
Importantly, draft applications created but not submitted before the legacy system is taken offline will not be migrated to EPOS. However, employers with Trusted Partner status will automatically have their status recognized and visible in the new portal upon registration.
According to DETE, this transition is part of a broader effort to modernise outdated technologies and deliver a faster, more user-friendly experience for all stakeholders involved in the employment permit process.
