Dublin: Revolut, the fintech giant serving three million customers in Ireland, is set to expand into the housing market later this year with the launch of online home loans.
The company plans to introduce mortgages on a trial basis during the third quarter of 2025, with a full rollout expected in the final quarter. Joe Heneghan, Chief Executive of Revolut Europe, confirmed that the digital mortgages will initially be offered exclusively through the Revolut mobile app. The firm is also considering the potential involvement of brokers at a later stage.
Revolut, which was valued at €40 billion last year, is poised to challenge traditional banks in the mortgage lending sector. Backed by its EU banking licence, Revolut already offers mortgage products in Lithuania and previously announced plans to expand similar services to Ireland and France.
Headquartered in the UK, Revolut has established itself as the largest digital-only fintech company in Europe. Last year, the company reported a pre-tax profit of €128 million, marking a 149% increase compared to the previous year.
