Spain were crowned FIFA World Cup 2026 champions after defeating defending champions Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the final at New York New Jersey Stadium.
Substitute Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in the 106th minute, securing Spain’s second men’s World Cup title and their first since 2010. The triumph also made Spain the first nation to hold both the men’s and women’s FIFA World Cup titles simultaneously.
Spain captain Rodri was named the tournament’s Golden Ball winner, while goalkeeper Unai Simón claimed the Golden Glove award. Defender Pau Cubarsí received the Young Player Award.
France’s Kylian Mbappé won the Golden Boot after finishing as the tournament’s top scorer, becoming the first player to claim the award at two FIFA World Cups.
