DUBLIN: Sinn Féin has overtaken Fine Gael to become the most popular party in Ireland. Mary Lou McDonald’s Sinn Féin topped the list with a two – point increase in popularity, while Fine Gael’s popularity fell by four points.
In the latest Sunday Times poll, Sinn Féin has 32% public support. They’ve raised popular support by two points. At the same time, Fine Gae’s popular support fell 4 points to 27%.Fianna Fáil is third with 22% support.
Polling took place between December 3 and 15. The figures has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3%.
Meawhile, the Labour Party has seen a one-point increase to 5%. Support for the Green Party fell two points to 3%.
There is no change in the popular support for Solidarity/People Before Profit (2%).However, support for the Social Democrats fell by one point to 1%.Meanwhile, Independents and Others increased popular support by two points to 7%.
