The project, aimed at enhancing accessibility and preserving biodiversity, includes wider paths, new seating, native planting, and restored heritage features.
Landscaping supports urban wildlife, while sculptures by Patrick Kavanagh and Carolyn Mulholland highlight the area’s cultural legacy. Previously used as a camp by asylum seekers, the area is now a welcoming public space. With new office developments nearby, footfall is expected to rise. A recent survey found visitors link time at the canal with better mental well-being.
