Dublin: Met Éireann has issued a series of Status Yellow weather warnings for seven counties as heavy rain and unsettled weather are expected to affect parts of Ireland, bringing a risk of localised flooding, difficult travel conditions and poor visibility.
Heavy rain warnings are in place for Mayo and Galway, while separate rain warnings have also been issued for Wicklow, Wexford and Waterford, remaining in effect until midnight. In addition, a further rainfall alert covering Tipperary, Limerick and Cork came into force at 6pm.
Met Éireann warned that the adverse weather could lead to localised flooding, hazardous driving conditions and reduced visibility, urging motorists and the public to exercise caution.
Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected
Tuesday is expected to remain cloudy, humid and misty across much of the country, with outbreaks of rain affecting several areas, including Dublin. Some locations could also experience heavy downpours and isolated thunderstorms.
Daytime temperatures will range between 18°C and 23°C, although cooler conditions are expected in the northwest. Winds will be light to moderate, coming from the southwest before turning westerly.
Cooler, Windier Conditions Midweek
Wednesday will bring cooler and windier weather, with persistent rain expected across Ulster and parts of northern Connacht and Leinster.
Temperatures are forecast to range between 14°C and 19°C, with rainfall gradually easing later in the evening.
Thursday Outlook
Met Éireann forecasts a generally unsettled day on Thursday, with isolated showers and patches of drizzle. Light to moderate westerly winds are expected, while daytime temperatures will remain between 15°C and 19°C.
