Donabate Cemetery in North Dublin has been damaged by a car crash

DUBLIN – An old cemetery in the north Dublin village of Donabate has been destroyed after a car crashed into it. St. Patrick’s cemetery was severely damaged in a car accident in one night. All the graves were destroyed. The headstones were also destroyed. 
A 40-year-old woman was admitted to Beaumont Hospital. Yesterday, at 3.15 a.m., a car accident occurred on Donabate’s main street.

Corina Johnston, a Labor MP, stated that the headstones had been damaged. The cemetery’s walls had collapsed. This ancient burial ground was very well looked after by the people. According to Corina Johnston, the news of the accident shocked the entire country.

According to local historian Peter Bates, the cemetery could hold hundreds of people. The graves were dated from 1810-20 and many of their headstones were broken.
