Winter Solstice – December 22, 2022
Due to the tilt of the earth, the Winter Solstice is the day with the shortest period of daylight and the longest night of the year (in the Northern Hemisphere). In many cultures, the day is a day of feasting and celebration, but even if you’re completely agnostic, you might find reason to rejoice because, starting today, you’ll notice steadily shorter nights and longer days, signalling the arrival of spring.
WINTER SOLSTICE ACTIVITIES: Make a resolution
The usual day for resolutions is New Year’s Eve, but what better day than the Winter Solstice to write yourself a couple of notes? On one note, write down an aspect of the previous year that you’d like to let go of, and on the other, put down an aim or dream that you’d like to accomplish in the coming year.
