Pele’s cancer worsens
Brazilian football legend Pele’s cancer has worsened and he will remain in a hospital during Christmas since he is under “elevated care” due to “kidney and cardiac dysfunctions.”
Pele, 82, is widely considered to be one of the greatest players of all time and has been hospitalised at Albert Einstein since November to review his therapy and cure a respiratory infection.
“Our Christmas at home has been halted,” Pele’s daughter Kely Nascimento said on Instagram, thanking everyone for their support.
“We decided with the physicians that it would be best for us to stay here with all of the attention that this new family at Einstein provides.” We’ll even make some caipirinhas (no kidding). “We adore you and will provide an update next week,” she continued.
