Weather updates: Ireland to minus six

Dublin: The yellow alert issued due to snowfall in Ireland will remain in effect until today. Arctic air currents have brought Ireland back to extreme cold. It is reported that snowfall is continuing in many parts.

Most of the country, including Kerry, Cork, and Limerick, experienced -5C temperatures. The Met has reiterated its warning about snow and traffic disruptions on the roads. Forecasters predict that Tuesday will be bitterly cold, with snow falling in many areas.

Conakry and Ulster will also see widespread wintry showers. According to the Met Office, the weather will be dry in the eastern and southern counties. The maximum temperature will range between 1 and 4 degrees Celsius.

Tonight will be snowy and bitterly cold. The temperature will drop to -4 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday, there will be no significant change in the weather. Winter rain and snow will continue to fall across the country. The high temperature will range from 3 to 6 degrees Celsius. Wednesday night is going to be bitterly cold. Low temperature may reach minus, observers say.

Thursday will bring heavy snow, cold, and rain to the southwest. Temperatures will range from 1 to 6 degrees Celsius. Overnight, rain will spread eastward across the country. Snow is also expected for a while. Temperatures in Ulster will fall below zero overnight.

Friday will be mild but mostly cloudy, with highs ranging from 7 to 10 degrees Celsius. The wind will be moderate from the west to the southwest.

The weather will be mostly cloudy through the weekend. Rain is also possible on occasion. The daytime temperature will range between 9 and 12 degrees Celsius. According to the Met Office, there will also be a chance of south-westerly winds and no snow during the night.
