Fans unleashed cyber-attack on the Lines Women right after the Disqualification of Djokovic

Serbia’s world number one Novak Djokovic has been disqualified from the US Open for smashing the ball on a Line Referee (Lines Woman).

This incident made the fans upset and they took over the internet bullying the lines referee.

The incident happened during Sunday’s match at the US Open. The referee was hit by a shot that unexpectedly came from the back of Djokovic’s racket and thus he was disqualified.

The 2020 Grand Slam rulebook says: “Players shall not at any time physically abuse any official, opponent, spectator or other person within the precincts of the tournament site.”

“The referee in consultation with the grand slam chief of supervisors may declare a default for either a single violation of this code or pursuant to the point penalty schedule.” The rulebook says.

Right after the disqualification, the Serbian media revealed the Instagram account of this Lines Woman. Djokovic fans, outraged by the incident, unleashed a cyber-attack on them.

Later Djokovic himself stepped in to demand an end to the attacks on the Lines Woman and asked the fans to stay calm.

Djokovic made it clear that the Lines women had done nothing wrong and that she needs the support of the tennis world.

Djokovic was about to make to his 18th slam single title in New York having not lost a match all season.
