Another road accident in County Tipperary: Three dead

Cashel: Three people, including a young child, died in a car accident near Cashel, County Tipperary, on Tuesday evening. The accident occurred on Windmill Road, just outside of Cashel. Gardai and members of the emergency services attended the scene during the night to carry out emergency rescue operations.

According to an updated statement issued shortly after midnight, the vehicle crashed into a wall in the Windmill Knockbulloge area of Cashel around 9 p.m. yesterday.

Those who travelled by car are members of a family living in the town. They were all sitting in the back seat of the car. Initial information is that a child, his grandfather and grandmother died in the accident.

The driver and another woman in the front seat were taken to Tipperary University Hospital. It is reported that their condition is critical.

People in the county are in shock following the accident, which occurred shortly after four young men from the neighbouring town of Clonmel died on their way to a leaving cert party.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar offered his condolences to the people affected by the tragedy.
