Snow’s Power Wanes: Meteorologists Warn Against Easing Caution on Roads

Dublin: As the unexpected snowfall gradually diminishes, normalcy is gradually returning to Ireland. Many public transport services have resumed operations, although caution remains paramount due to lingering ice hazards.
Yellow Snow Alerts and Ice Warnings have been lifted for various regions, including Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, West Meath, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, and Wicklow.

Following the snow disruption, Dart services between Lansdowne Road and Bray have resumed, along with commuter train services, albeit with some delays. Dublin Bus has announced the resumption of normal services on most routes, except for those to Enniskerry, Larkhill, and Sandyford Village. However, Red Line services are operating without disruption.

Junction 13 of the M50 in Dublin, previously closed due to heavy snow, has reopened, signalling a return to normal traffic flow. However, travelers are advised to exercise caution, particularly on routes like Wicklow Gap and Sally Gap, as per guidance from Wicklow County Council. Additionally, officials have urged careful passage along the N4 at Longford. Furthermore, Far Finisklin Road in Sligo has been reopened for travel.
