Dublin: Ireland’s economic outlook remains stable, with no cause for concern, according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO). The country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 3.2% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the final quarter of 2024.
The CSO attributes this growth to the strong performance of multinational corporations operating in Ireland, as well as a notable rise in activity across domestic sectors. When compared to the same period in 2024, the economy expanded by 13.3%, highlighting a significant year-on-year rebound.
GDP figures in 2023 and 2024 reflected declines, largely due to a slowdown in multinational activity. The sharp increase in Q1 2025 is therefore seen as a statistical rebound, with the CSO cautioning that quarterly GDP figures in Ireland are typically subject to volatility due to the outsized role of multinationals.
