Ireland’s Annual Inflation Holds at 1.6% – CSO

Dublin: Ireland’s EU Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) rose by 1.6% in the 12 months to July 2025, with a 0.2% increase recorded since June 2025, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

Food costs increased by 0.2% month-on-month and by 4.6% over the past year, continuing to exert upward pressure on the overall inflation rate.

Energy prices rose 1.5% in July but recorded a 0.3% annual decline compared to July 2024.

Core Inflation at 1.7%

Excluding energy and unprocessed food, core inflation rose 1.7% year-on-year, reflecting underlying price stability.

Transport expenses grew by 1.2% in July, but dropped 2.7% over the 12-month period.

Ireland’s annual inflation rate remains below the Eurozone average of 2.0% for June 2025. Anthony Dawson, CSO statistician, confirmed that consumer prices in Ireland have seen a modest increase, driven mainly by food, while energy and transport costs show mixed trends.
