First BusConnects Corridor Set for September Construction
Dublin: The first BusConnects corridor, linking Liffey Valley to Dublin city centre, begins construction this September. The €274 million, 9.2 km route aims to cut commute times with dedicated bus lanes and traffic signals, completing in three years.
Major Public Transport Upgrade
Part of a 12-corridor plan to improve Dublin Bus reliability, the project is expected to boost bus passenger numbers by 58% and increase walking and cycling by 45%, with new footpaths and cycle lanes.
More Corridors Coming
Routes from Ballymun to Finglas are in tender, while construction on the Tallaght–Clondalkin corridor starts next year.
Community-Focused Development
The NTA promises strong community engagement through local groups and dedicated support channels. A new framework with six contractors will help speed up future projects.
