Electric Ireland to reintroduce a severance moratorium

Electric Ireland has announced that it will reintroduce a severance moratorium on 1.3 million residential and business customers.

The company aims to protect all of their consumers who may experience financial crisis during the new level 5 restrictions. This move will last until December 1.

The company said that those who are facing financial difficulties can contact the company and thus the company will help them to find a payment plan according to their circumstances.

Electric Ireland goes hand in hand with organisations such as the Irish Money Advice and Budgeting Service and Society of St. Vincent de Paul, through them the customers can get some financial helps to pay their bills.

Eoin Clarke of Switcher.ie said that this is a great news for Electric Ireland customers.

“At a time where many are going to be suffering financial hardship they can have peace of mind that they will not be left unable to heat their homes or without power this winter.” He added.
