Poll result: Support for Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, Sinn Féin decreased; Green Party gained support
DUBLIN: A poll of 1,200 people on Monday and Tuesday showed that public support for Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, Sinn Féin and the Labour Party had declined.
At the same time, the Irish Times/Ipsos MRBI poll shows that public support for the Green Party, the Independents/other parties, has risen.
While Fianna Fáil fell from three percentage points to 14T, Fine Gael dropped from 35% to 30%. Meanwhile, Sinn Féin is just one point lower at 28%.
Public support for the Green Party rose from 4% to 6%. Support for Independents/other parties increased from 11% to 19%. Meanwhile, the Labour Party is down one point to 3%.
More than half of the voters (51%) said that the government is not dealing well with the pandemic. At the same time, 45% of them believe that the government is doing well. This is 13% less than in the last poll. This decline indicates that the public has lost some confidence in the government in dealing with the COVID pandemic.
Fifty-two per cent said that the health minister Stephen Donnelly is not doing a good job. At the same time, only 13% said CMO Dr. Tony Holohan was handling the pandemic badly.
While 39% believe that Taoiseach Micheál Martin is doing a good job, 45% believe that Tánaiste Leo Varadkar is doing a bad job.
