Met Éireann issues thunderstorm warning for 21 counties

DUBLIN: Met Éireann has issued a thunderstorm warning for 21 counties across Ireland.

A Status Yellow alert has been issued for the entire counties of Leinster and Munster, as well as Cavan, Donegal, and Monaghan.

The warning is in effect until 10 pm today (Wednesday).

Met Éireann predicts the risk of spot flooding this evening due to heavy showers, hail, and scattered thunderstorms. The forecaster says scattered showers will continue early tonight, but that the rest of the night will be mostly dry with clear spells.

Patches of mist and fog will form tonight and will quickly lift and clear tomorrow (Thursday) morning. Thursday will begin with a mix of sunny spells and patchy cloud cover, followed by scattered showers during the day. Temperatures could range from 11 to 14 degrees.
