Another dramatic day in Qatar, as South Korea came from behind to defeat more-fancied Portugal 2-1 on Friday, advancing to the FIFA World Cup 2022 Round of 16.The drama did not end there, as Korea’s fate was dependent on the outcome of the other Group H match between Ghana and Uruguay.
After an eight-minute wait, Korea celebrated once more as they secured a place in the last 16 alongside Portugal, who topped the group despite the loss. Uruguay defeated Ghana 2-0 but failed to make the knockout round due to the goals scored.
Brazil was stunned by Cameroon in their final group game of the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Saturday. Cameroon became the first African team to defeat Brazil in a World Cup match, winning 1-0 at Lusail Stadium thanks to a late winner.
Vincent Aboubakar scored the game-winning goal in the 92nd minute, but was sent off a minute later after receiving a second yellow card for removing his shirt during the celebration. However, the outcome had no bearing on the fate of the two sides.
Brazil, who had already qualified for the last 16 prior to the game, finished first in Group G with six points, one point ahead of Switzerland, who defeated Serbia 3-2 in the other group game, on goal difference. Cameroon finished the tournament with four points and third place in their group. Serbia finished last with only one point.
Final for these 16 teams!
