Applications for short stay visas from India to Ireland will be accepted from Monday
DUBLIN: Short stay visa applications from India to Ireland will be accepted from September 13 Monday. This process was non-functional for many months due to COVID-19. It comes as good news for many people who were waiting to visit their relatives in Ireland. Especially people who plan to come to Ireland for maternity needs of their children and for attending other ceremonies will benefit from the resumption of this scheme.
It is now clear that almost all the remaining Covid related restrictions on short stay entry visa and preclearance processing will be lifted.
The measures like proof of vaccination, recovery from COVID-19, and negative PCR test result for all travellers arriving in Ireland will remain in force. This should be produced before the Immigration control at their port of entry. Details of these measures are provided in the Irish government website.
Indian residents who apply for a long stay application to the VFS, are advised to avail the VFS check and verify service. Residents in Nepal who apply for long stay visa should avail the In-depth verification service. If these processes are not done, it can result in the application being refused. These add -on services enable the VFS staff to perform pre-checks and initial validation of the supporting documents. This relieves the stress of both the applicant and the visa office by ensuring high quality of the documentation.

The current fee for a single entry visa to Ireland is rupees 5,300, Rs 9,000 for a multiple entry visa, and Rs 2,225 for a transit visa.
