Cork Pravasi Malayali Association Celebrates International Nurses Day 2023 with Grandeur

Cork, Ireland: The Cork Pravasi Malayali Association, a prominent organization representing the Malayali community residing in Cork, celebrated International Nurses Day 2023 with great enthusiasm and reverence. The event, held on May 12, paid homage to the selfless and dedicated healthcare professionals.

The Cork Pravasi Malayali Association, known for its efforts in promoting cultural diversity and unity, left no stone unturned in organizing a memorable and heartfelt celebration to honor nurses and healthcare workers for their exceptional contributions. The event took place at Bru Columbanus,Cork and saw a large turnout of association members, healthcare professionals, and well-wishers.

The celebrations commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by esteemed guests, including local government officials and healthcare representatives.Sandhya Subhash gave welcome speech.The chief guest for the evening was Ms.Kathryn Courtney- Industrial relations officer, Irish Nurses and Midwifery Organisation (INMO) who delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the vital role of nurses in healthcare systems worldwide.Meeting was presided by Shibin kunjumon(CPMA President).Reema Antony(Cork Indian Nurses Association) and Shinto Jose( Migrant Nurses Ireland)recognized the contributions of nurses from diverse backgrounds. Shiju Joy( CPMA Secretary),Janet Renju delivered a felicitation speech and Jesily Panicker spoke on the theme “Our nurses. Our Future”. Melba Vilson expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks, and Aneema Justin served as the program’s anchor.

The event showcased various cultural performances, including dance and music. The vibrant and colorful performances enthralled the audience, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie. To express their gratitude towards the nurses, the Cork Pravasi Malayali Association(CPMA) honored Malayali nurses Jessy Cyriac ,Sheeba Joseph,Reema Antony and Joyce jolly who served more than 20 years in the nursing profession in Ireland.
