COVID-19: 24 deaths and 371 new cases confirmed yesterday

DUBLIN: The Department of Health has confirmed 24 additional deaths and 371 new cases of COVID-19 in Ireland yesterday.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ireland is now 231,484. Of these, 12 deaths occurred in March, ten in February and two in January. The death toll from COVID-19 is 4,610.

Of the cases confirmed yesterday,

● 183 were men and 187 were women

● 75% are under 45 years of age

● The median age is 30

● 151 of the new cases are in Dublin, 31 in Offaly, 27 in Donegal, 25 in Galway, 21 in Meath and the remaining 116 cases are spread across 16 other counties.

As of yesterday morning, 357 COVID-19 patients were hospitalised, with 76 in ICU.

The 14-day incidence rate in Ireland is 158.3 per 100,000 of the population.
