COVID-19 vaccination in Ireland is progressing well; 26% of the population has been fully vaccinated

DUBLIN: Ireland has made remarkable progress in vaccination, according to Taoiseach Micheál Martin. The Taoiseach said 26% of the population has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 55% has received a first dose.

Mr. Martin said the country’s vaccination programme was continuing “very effectively and efficiently”. A total of more than three million doses have now been administered.

“Tremendous tribute must be paid to the HSE, to our GPs, and all those who have been involved in the vaccination programme,” the Taoiseach said.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health has confirmed 377 new cases of coronavirus in Ireland. As of yesterday evening, there were 69 COVID-19 patients in the hospital, with 26 in intensive care units.
