Free training programs for employees in hospitality and tourism sectors

DUBLIN: Government to organise free training programmes for employees in the hospitality and tourism sectors. The Department of Higher Education and the Irish Hotels Federation are organising two training programs to develop the supervisory management roles of team leaders and upskill workers.

Higher Education Minister Simon Harris said the aim of the training program is to prepare the sector for reopening.

The training program has been developed in collaboration with educational institutions, including SOLAS and the Board of Educational Training. Both training programs are free and will begin from next month.

It is also trying to provide training to those who have lost their jobs temporarily due to COVID-19 pandemic.

More than one Lakh workers in the hospitality and tourism sectors are currently receiving pandemic unemployment payments.
