India defeated Ireland to qualify for the Women’s T20 World Cup semi-final

On Monday, India defeated Ireland by 5 runs using the Duckworth-Lewis method, advancing to the T20 World Cup semifinals. Rain had previously interrupted the action as the players exited and the covers were put on. The game was eventually called off, and Ireland finished the World Cup without a victory.

Smriti Mandhana scored 87 runs to lead India to a 155/6 victory over Ireland on Monday. The opener, along with Shafali Verma, guided India to a consistent powerplay score of 42/0 in six overs. Although Verma was out in the 10th over, the southpaw forged a 50-run partnership with captain Harmanpreet Kaur, which helped India record a battling total. Kaur had won the toss and elected to bat first.
