Madeleine McCann’s Disappearance: A New Arrest Warrant for the Suspect in Multiple Cases

Berlin: A new arrest warrant has been issued against Christian Bruckner, a criminal who is in jail in Germany, in connection with the rape cases committed in Portugal. It has been proven that he was present when a seven-year-old girl named Madeleine McCann disappeared from the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz in 2007. He had been burglarizing holiday homes in the Bruckner area and had children’s clothes in his camper van, according to cops.

The cops believe the circumstantial evidence is extremely strong. Although the allegations were not proven, it is believed that he is responsible for Madeleine’s disappearance. That is why the cops are looking for loopholes to put him in jail.

The existing sentences in various cases will end in September 2025.

Authorities in Braunschweig have issued warrants against him for five more counts, including sex crimes, over concerns that he might be released before trial in the Madeleine case. Braunschweig prosecutors have revealed that these crimes were committed in Portugal between 2000 and 2017.

His arrest warrant was approved by the Braunschweig State Court. In 2018, he was arrested in Italy and later extradited to Germany. Therefore, this arrest warrant also needs Italy’s approval. The Braunschweig court said that a decision should also be made on whether to send the case to trial.

The court clarified that the warrant is being issued because it has been proven that Bruckner is behind two cases of rape and sexual abuse of two children. It is suspected that McCann was murdered. Bruckner, on the other hand, has not yet been charged in this case.

Madeleine’s route remains unknown…

Madeleine, from Rothley, Leicestershire, went missing on May 3, 2007, while on vacation with her family at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz.

Madeleine’s whereabouts remain unknown, and her disappearance was the most reported missing person case. She will turn 19 in May of this year.

Her case has been the subject of numerous documentaries, including a Netflix series, and is one of the world’s most discussed missing persons cases.
