DUBLIN: Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain and thunderstorm warning for Ireland.
The warning, which was issued this afternoon, will remain in effect until 7 am tomorrow.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms, as well as heavy rainfall, are expected during these hours.
There is also the risk of localised floods, particularly in the northwest of the country.
Met Éireann has also issued a nationwide weather warning for the rest of today.
Meanwhile, Antrim, Armagh, Down, Tyrone and Derry were given a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning until 6 pm today.
