Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue, was recently tested positive for Covid-19. As McConalogue became positive, all the ministers in the Irish cabinet went into observation.
As a precaution, all ministers have been monitored and subjected to the Covid test. Ministers will remain under observation until the results of the inspection are available.
Transport Minister Eamon Ryan, meanwhile, said McConalogue’s illness should be cured as soon as possible and that other colleagues should be safe from Covid.
A meeting of all ministers was convened yesterday ahead of the announcement of the Level 5 restrictions. Although social distance and other security arrangements were ensured, Minister Charlie also attended the two-hour-long meeting.
It was only after that that he came out with Covid positive test result and a group of ministers entered the observation.
