PGA Championship- Irish players having a tough time

Rory McIloryhedead into the weekend at the PGA Championship with an expensive bogey dealt a blow to his probabilities.

Even though McIlroy doesn’t have a Main championship win from the past six years, he found the rhythm back on Friday as he reached the twelfth on -3 achieving fourth consecutive birdies from the seventh.

McIlroy tumble down the leader-board after carding a costly triple. The Northern Irishman was able to make it up and finish on -1 for the day and overall.

Li Haotong of China is leading by marking his place on -8.

Shane Lowry was not having a good day. He started the round on -2 and played a strong front nine which made him the eighth on -4.

Lowry’s round became worse after that and the Open champion marked five bogeys in his next six holes. That made Lowry to a drop on the leader board but managed to set up a par score.

Tommy Fleetwood still has his eyes on the Top prize, as he was able to fire a second round of 64 to lead a three-pronged bid for a fantastic English success in the US PGA Championship, San Francisco.

“Yesterday I had a decent score going and had a bad couple of holes on 12 and 13 which halted progress,” Fleetwood said. “Level par wasn’t a bad score and today I feel like my game is improving day by day since I’ve come back.

Till the time the only Englishman to lift the Wanamaker Trophy is Jim Barnes (1916 and 1919).

But this time Fleetwood along with two other English players Paul Casey and Justin Rose, whom managed to finish the weekend in a safe manner might end the 101 years wait for an English Winner.

The finals are about to happen on Sunday.
