Pope’s Instagram Like for Bikini Model; Vatican launches investigation

Vatican City: An investigation has been launched into the incident in which a picture of a Brazilian bikini model was liked by Pope Francis’ official Instagram account.

The photo of Brazilian model Natalia Garibotto was ‘liked’ from the Pope’s account a few days ago. The Vatican has ordered an internal investigation into the incident.

Pope’s social media accounts are managed by specialized officials. International media quoted Vatican officials as saying that they would look into whether this was a mistake on their part.

The Vatican has also approached Instagram seeking information about this. The Vatican News Agency reports that Instagram was approached for an explanation to confirm that it was not a mistake on the part of Instagram.

The pope’s account disliked the film after the incident was discussed.

Model Natalia, meanwhile, tweeted that she had received the Pope’s liking, at least I’m going to heaven” while her management company also saying it had “received the POPE’S OFFICIAL BLESSING”.
