Sinn Féin is gaining popularity in Ireland; Fine Gael’s popularity is declining

DUBLIN: Sinn Féin is gaining popularity in Ireland. Sinn Féin has become the most popular party in the latest opinion published by the Irish Mail on Sunday/Ireland Thinks.

Opinion polls since July show that popular support for Sinn Féin is on the rise and that Fine Gael’s is gradually declining.

The poll also shows that interest in Fianna Fáil is also increasing.

Sinn Féin received one percent more popularity than Fine Gael. Leo Varadkar’s Fine Gael was favoured by 28% while Sinn Féin was favoured by 29%.Fianna Fáil’s popularity grew by 15%.

The Green Party has no significant change (3%). Under the new leadership of Alan Kelly, the Labour Party’s popularity has risen to 5%. Social Democrats remain unchanged (5%).

Its leader, Peadar Tóibín, expressed satisfaction with Aontú’s rise in popularity to 4%. He said was “no small thing”.

While 3% liked the Solidarity-People Before Profit, the popularity of independents and others fell by 8%.

Fine Gael’s popularity, which was 32% in a September poll, is now down to 28%. At the same time, Fianna Fáil’s popularity was 14% and Sinn Féin was 28%. In July, 38% of people supported Fine Gael. 12% supported Fianna Fáil and 26% supported Sinn Féin.
