The government will continue to provide assistance to support the cost of living

Dublin: The government has signalled that support programmes will continue in the face of rising living costs. Michael McGrath, the Minister for Public Expenditure, has confirmed that four one-off assistance schemes will be delivered this week. However, it is impossible to forecast the government’s fiscal policies in the future. The minister stated that the administration is attempting to ease people’s hardships.

The scheme is a lump-sum payment of four allowances to meet living expenses. The minister also explained that those receiving a fuel allowance of €400 and Working Family Payments will receive a cost of living payment of €500, a Disability Support Grant of €500, and a Living Alone Allowance of €200. This is a proposal that was stated in the budget for this year. Minister McGrath stated that government funds will assist individuals in dealing with rising costs of living.
