The Irish government has restricted Covid testing due to overcrowding, and the lockdown could last up to six months

With 1,620 new cases reported, the Department of Health has confirmed that about two percent (91,779) of Ireland’s population is infected with the Covid virus.

So far 2,237 Covid affected people had died in Ireland. Today alone, 12 people have died.

Health department officials today appealed to the general public to ensure that those who have been in close contact with Covid victims do not have to go for testing and instead access the required quarantine.

This is due to overcrowding in hospitals and testing centers.

Tony Holohan, the chief medical officer of the Department of Health, has requested that the GP be contacted if he/she still shows symptoms after entering the quarantine.

Health experts say Ireland is heading for the “biggest and scariest” wave of the Covid-19 pandemic ever seen. Health experts warn that the country’s healthcare system is in grave danger.

According to UCC Professor Jerry Killin, a member of the Independent Scientific Advocacy Group (ISG), a fourth wave is emerging.

A wave caused by a new variant of the virus spreads further. The plan to live with the virus is never practical. It will always be a rollercoaster, he said.

We are not even in a position to draw. Now is the time for us to kneel. Jerry Killin warns.

The ISG also called on the Irish island community to work together to eradicate the virus through a severe and aggressive lockdown that will last until next summer.

Nursing homes became Covid clusters

Although the majority of Covid victims are in the age group of 19-24, the country’s most elderly nursing homes fear the most dangerous Covid outbreak.

If Covid had not reached the vast majority of nursing homes in the country in the first phase of expansion, that would not be the case now. Health officials are concerned that more alarming news could come from nursing homes in Ireland in the coming days.

The whole of Ireland is frozen in extreme cold. With Britain leaving the European Union at 11pm tonight, there could be a far-reaching crisis in the freight sector as well. The reality is that Ireland is heading into a New Year’s Eve full of misery with all the crises.

Hospital beds in Northern Ireland are full.

The situation in the North is getting worse. All the hospitals were overflowing with patients.

Due to the overcrowding of calls, even emergency telephones are inaccessible to emergency services, including ambulances.

Covid was confirmed in 1929 people in Northern Ireland today.
