Wicklow Christmas Market returns for its fifth year, promising to be “bigger and better than ever before.”
The Christmas Market, which is just a few minutes from Wicklow Town and readily accessible by rail from Dublin, offers a day of family fun with plenty of activities for both adults and children. On Saturday, November 19, it will be formally opened.
The market includes Ireland’s first eco-ice rink, fun fair attractions, and dozens of vendors offering food, drink, apparel, and other items. There’s also the “Santa Express,” a fun-filled train trip operated by elves that transports kids to see Santa.
According to organiser Ed Horgan, this year’s Christmas market will be the “largest year” ever, with over 40 merchants. “There will be many changes after COVID,” he stated.
“We have stalls offering everything from crafts, chutneys, embroidery, hats, Christmas decorations, sweaters, and scarves to Christmas decorations.” “There’s a little bit of everything.” We provide pizza, Asian cuisine, churros, waffles, and have a bar. “In addition, there are fire performances, a funfair, Santa, alpacas, and live music.”
Preparations at the site are presently in full gear, with only a few days until the big opening. “Right now, we have a set-up crew here; they started last Saturday.” The ice rink is being built, and all of the cottages are in place. “We should be in fine shape by this time for the opening.”
