“Verizon Expands Irish Presence with Global Centre of Excellence in Limerick, Creating Over 400 Jobs”

Telecom and tech services provider Verizon is set to establish a global center of excellence in Limerick, Ireland, housed at the 1BQ building developed by Kirkland Investments and expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2024. Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Employment Simon Coveney anticipates that this expansion will generate more than 400 jobs over the next two years, showcasing Verizon’s commitment to Ireland and its skilled workforce.

Verizon, a US multinational with a presence in Ireland since 2006, currently employs 1,000 staff in Dublin. The new Limerick Centre will consolidate key functions in a collaborative environment to support global business operations. Craig Silliman, Verizon Global Services President, highlighted the move’s strategic value in enhancing efficiency and effectiveness to deliver top-tier results for customers, employees, and partners.

Supported by IDA Ireland, the Irish government’s investment promotion agency, Verizon’s expansion signifies confidence in Ireland’s capabilities. Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland, noted that the selection of Limerick City for this centre of excellence, spanning strategic functions like strategy and transformation, FinOps, network engineering, and cybersecurity, positions the mid-west region and Ireland for future investments in the sector. Interested candidates can explore job opportunities on Verizon’s Careers page, with various roles available in Dublin and Limerick, including procurement agent supervisor, global procurement senior manager, and procurement graduate. https://mycareer.verizon.com/jobs/?search=&country=Ireland
