A special campaign to recruit doctors to Ireland has been launched
Dublin: The HSE has launched a national and international recruitment campaign to recruit consultants for Ireland’s health service, with the aim of repatriating Irish health workers currently abroad.
This year, 400 vacancies are expected to be filled, according to the new campaign.

Anne Marie Hoey, the HSE’s national director of human resources, stated that the campaign would target both new employees from other countries and those trained in Ireland.
“A global shortage of healthcare workers has created a fiercely competitive market.” As a result, many international health systems, including the HSE, are attempting to address the shortage by recruiting from abroad.
Over the last two years, Ireland has welcomed over 20,000 staff, including 3,500 internationally recruited nurses, with competitive relocation packages. Such activities will continue the HSE’s sustainable international recruitment practise,” Hoey added.
Last month, it was revealed that the HSE had continued to recruit nurses from Zimbabwe, Ghana, and Nigeria for more than a month after they were placed on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) no-recruit list. According to an HSE spokesperson, Zimbabwe, Ghana, and Nigeria, which are experiencing severe staff shortages, were added to the list as soon as the relevant HSE unit became aware that recruitment from those countries had been halted.
