Irish Airports Ensure Smooth Entry for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve; Special Team to Safeguard Reindeer Flight Paths

Dublin, Shannon, and Cork airports’ air traffic controllers have enlisted a dedicated team to facilitate Santa Claus and his reindeer’s safe passage through Irish airspace on Christmas Eve. AirNav, the provider of air traffic control services for these airports, anticipates over a million flights during Christmas week. While the airports will be quiet on Christmas Day, operations resume on St. Stephen’s Day after Santa’s safe return to the North Pole.

Dublin Airport, preparing for Santa’s arrival, plans a brief pause in flights just before midnight on Christmas Eve. Graeme McQueen, Media Relations Manager at daa, expressed the joyous scenes of reunions at the airport, with numerous heartwarming stories unfolding during this festive season. The terminal is expected to see around 90,000 passengers today, with Friday projected as the busiest day before Christmas.
