The Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Micheál Martin, has confirmed that Ireland’s financial aid to Ukraine since February 2022 has surpassed €212 million. This includes over €90 million in stabilisation and humanitarian funding, along with commitments of approximately €122 million in non-lethal military assistance through the European Peace Facility. Furthermore, Ireland has provided support for accountability measures regarding Russia’s actions in Ukraine, including €1 million to the Office of the Prosecutor General of the International Criminal Court. Other contributions include funding for governance reform efforts through various channels such as the Council of Europe Development Bank Ukraine Solidarity Fund, as well as support through the OSCE, OECD, and NGOs.

Several government departments have contributed in-kind and monetary support, including medical aid from the HSE, Department of Defence funding for EU Military Assistance Mission, and assistance from the Department of Agriculture for farmers in Ukraine. Looking ahead, Ireland has committed €43 million in 2023 to address the global consequences of the war, with an additional €35 million allocated in the first three months of 2024 to support ongoing humanitarian needs in Ukraine and its neighbouring countries.
