Irish Government Invests €24m in RAISE Scheme to Address Educational Underachievement in Northern Ireland

Dublin: The Irish Government is investing €24 million over the next two years to address educational underachievement in Northern Ireland through the RAISE initiative, launched in Lisburn. Funded by the Shared Island Fund, the scheme targets 15 areas across Northern Ireland with a focus on tackling issues linked to economic disadvantage.

Education Minister Norma Foley emphasised the importance of cooperation with Northern Ireland to address educational inequalities, while her Stormont counterpart, Paul Givan, highlighted the need to remove barriers to learning. The initiative may expand in the future, with additional funding possible.
