Rising Demand for School Admissions Among Newly Arrived Indian Families in Ireland
Mullingar: The growing number of Indian families relocating to Ireland has led to an increasing demand for school admissions, with hundreds of newly arrived students facing delays in securing placements in local schools. Many students are now forced to wait until the next academic year to gain admission.
In response to this issue, the Westmeath Indian Association (Voice of Mullingar) has submitted a formal petition to Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, urging the Government of India to intervene and seek urgent action on the matter.
Additional Concerns Raised in Petition
Beyond school admissions, the petition also calls for financial and legal assistance for the repatriation of deceased expatriates to their homeland, ensuring that families receive necessary support in such difficult circumstances. Additionally, the association has requested the launch of a direct flight service from Dublin to Kochi to better connect the Indian diaspora in Ireland with their home state.
