Amazon.ie Launches in Ireland with Prime Membership and Local Business Support
Dublin: Amazon has officially launched Amazon.ie, offering Irish customers access to over 200 million products with competitive pricing in Euros and fast, convenient delivery. Customers will benefit from One-Day Delivery on millions of items, transparent pricing with no additional customs charges, and easy returns.
A dedicated “Brands of Ireland” page will soon highlight Irish businesses, supporting local brands while expanding their market reach.
New Prime Membership for Ireland
Amazon has introduced a local Prime membership for €6.99 per month (€69.90 annually), offering:
- Fast & free One-Day Delivery on millions of products
- Exclusive deals, including Prime Day offers
- Prime Video, featuring Amazon Originals and live sports
- Prime Gaming, with free games and in-game content
- Amazon Photos, with unlimited full-resolution photo storage
- Exclusive partner discounts, such as Deliveroo Plus Silver and Odeon cinema deals
Irish customers with a UK Prime membership can easily switch to Amazon.ie Prime, with automatic cancellation and refunds for UK subscriptions. A 30-day free trial is available for all new Prime members.
Government and Business Leaders Welcome Amazon.ie
Taoiseach Micheál Martin praised the launch, highlighting the benefits of increased choice, value, and opportunities for Irish businesses. Minister for Enterprise Peter Burke called it a strong commitment to Ireland, with small and large businesses set to benefit.
Amazon’s Growing Presence in Ireland
Amazon employs 6,500 people across Ireland and has invested €22 billion in the country since 2004. Irish businesses selling on Amazon generated €170 million in export sales in 2023, creating over 2,500 local jobs.
