Boston Scientific to create around 400 new jobs in Clonmel, Tipperary
Tipperary: Boston Scientific, a US medical technology company, is opening 400 new skilled jobs in Clonmel, County Tipperary. The company, which has been in Clonmel for 25 years, will invest €80 million in new capital to expand its manufacturing and research and development (R&D) capabilities.
More funds have been set aside for construction and office space expansion as new employees are hired in manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, and research and development.
Clonmel-based Boston Scientific produces medical devices to aid patients suffering from heart disease, neurological disorders, kidney stones, pancreas, biliary tract, and esophageal diseases.
Conor Russell, vice president of operations at Boston Scientific, stated that Clonmel’s excellent workforce has enabled strong growth in the medical sector, and the new development plans are a testament to that.
