Dubai International Airport Implements Flight Restrictions Amid Record Rainfall in City

Flights to and from Dubai continue to face disruptions following heavy rains earlier in the week, which led to flooding and the temporary closure of Dubai International Airport. The airport has imposed restrictions on arriving flights for 48 hours and advises passengers to arrive no earlier than 2 hours before departure.

Emirates Airlines has suspended check-in services for passengers with onward connections through Dubai until April 19, 2359 GMT, while travelers whose final destination is Dubai itself can proceed with check-in as usual, though delays are expected.

IndiGo has issued a travel advisory due to adverse weather conditions in Dubai, urging passengers to monitor flight status and prepare for potential disruptions.

The Indian Embassy in Dubai is actively assisting stranded Indian passengers, coordinating with UAE authorities and airlines, and providing relief efforts in collaboration with Indian community organisations. Helpline numbers remain operational, emphasising their commitment to supporting the Indian community in the region.

Authorities in the UAE have advised residents to stay indoors due to heavy rain, hail, and thunderstorms, prioritising public safety during inclement weather conditions.
