Dublin: The Met Office has issued warnings of plummeting temperatures and the possibility of snow in parts of Ireland by the end of next week. While snowfall may not be as heavy as in previous years, forecasts indicate a potential dip to freezing temperatures.
Meteorologist Liz Walsh from Met Éireann cautioned, “People have begun anticipating snow, but this time it might catch them off guard. Traditionally, expectations for snow arise in late November or early December. Though signs of a colder spell are emerging later this week, we cannot guarantee the occurrence of snow,” stated a spokesperson for the Met Office.
Weather models deviating from the norm suggest an increased likelihood of cold winds sweeping Ireland, potentially bringing winter rains that could, in turn, delay the onset of snow.
The weather forecast remains as diverse as Ireland’s climate. The Met Jam weather site is alerting to the possibility of sub-zero temperatures in Ireland next week as cold air descends from Scandinavia. Computer projections for November 28 indicate temperatures as low as 0 degrees Celsius in various Irish regions.
