Government Aims to Deliver 303,000 Homes Over Next Five Years

Dublin: The government has set an ambitious target to bring 303,000 homes to the market within the next five years, a key component of the National Planning Framework expected to receive Cabinet approval today. Starting in 2025, an average of 50,500 homes will be constructed annually, with the target rising to 60,000 homes per year by 2030.

This initiative, spearheaded by Prime Minister Simon Harris, seeks decisive action on housing in advance of the general election. Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien has projected an average annual output of 54,000 homes by 2040, positioning this plan as a long-term solution to Ireland’s housing needs.
