India’s U19 women’s cricket team secured their second consecutive ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup title with a commanding nine-wicket victory over South Africa in the final at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur.
Opting to bowl first, India’s disciplined bowling attack dismissed South Africa for just 82 runs in 20 overs. Trisha Gongadi led with three wickets, while Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma claimed two each.
Chasing a modest target, India comfortably reached 83/1 in just 11.2 overs, with opener Gongadi Trisha top-scoring with 44. The dominant performance, led by captain Niki Prasad, reaffirmed India’s supremacy in the tournament, following their maiden title win under Shafali Verma’s leadership.
